That’s the standard at our house. It started in 1972 when my mom gave us a pressed cardboard and fancy dressed duck, complete with bobble head, hat and egg-shaped belly that opened for his annual stash of jelly beans. Or you could stand him in a nest of shredded green paper with fancier goodies. It was all fun, and the oldest child has the duck now. It’s nice to think of something traditional during this time of upheaval and uncertainty.
8 wonderful women started their journey to create, modify, or expand a business through the Women's Business Center’s Ms Biz program last week. As their coach, I got to hear all about their plans and help them craft a path to success. After all the gloom and doom it was nice to find entrepreneurs that weren’t thinking about the upset apple cart, but about the future. How they can achieve their goals and how to plan and budget for that to happen.
I read a lot of blogs, reviews, and news during the week. One of those was a blog post by Monica Shah on what is being called “Pivoting” for small business. Her clients had all kinds of questions. “How do you pivot?” “Should you launch a new product and when?” and “why does it seem like everyone else around you is pivoting faster and being so much more successful?” Use my link if you are interested in reading her entire post.
The sun is out, blue skies with puffy clouds, a light breeze – hope you’re crafting dyed eggs for tomorrow. All the public Easter egg hunts have been cancelled or modified. Tracy finished all the birdhouses and feeder he wanted to create and has half of them installed along the fence. Now we'll have to take an essential trip to the feed store for “Pet Food” ?.
Lastly, with my ramblings, I realized how much I miss my friends in the Fiber Arts Guild and Mary’s Monday Poems. Where are you Mary? There’s no group knitting allowed, but I miss your querky poems. I looked forward to reading them. Missing you all and the poems –
